Motion Estimation System Based on a Microphone Array

30 Minutes

Microphone Array, Doppler Effect, Radial Velocity, Moving Sound Source, Motion Estimation

This research proposes a motion estimation method using a microphone array. Unlike conventional Direction of Arrival (DOA) techniques that estimate the direction of a sound source, the proposed approach utilizes the Doppler effect to estimate the radial velocity between the sound source and each microphone. By combining the radial velocity observations from multiple microphones, the system estimates the position and motion of the sound source.
